Government Spending
As a Republican candidate for Assembly, I'm committed to transparency and accountability in government spending. Unfortunately, Sacramento's track record on fiscal responsibility has been disappointing. Let's examine some concerning examples:
Examples of Wasteful Spending
- Homelessness Funding: $24 billion in taxpayer dollars allocated to address homelessness has yielded little to show in terms of tangible results or accountability. This lack of transparency has contributed to higher tax burdens on California taxpayers leading to additional financial strain on families and businesses.
- Palisades Fire Relief: $100 million raised for fire victims has been mishandled, with inadequate oversight on how funds were utilized ultimately failed to deliver promised results.
- High-Speed Rail Project: The California High-Speed Rail project has been plagued by delays, cost overruns, and questions about its feasibility. Initially estimated to cost $33 billion, the project is now projected to cost $105 billion, with completion expected in 2029.
My Commitment
As your Assembly representative, I promise to:
- Promote Transparency: Advocate for clear and concise reporting on government spending, ensuring taxpayers understand how their dollars are being used.
- Demand Accountability: Support measures that hold government agencies and programs accountable for their performance and outcomes.
- Eliminate Waste: Work to identify and eliminate wasteful spending in government programs, prioritizing efficient use of taxpayer dollars.
Agencies We Support for Transparency
- Open FISCal: California's financial transparency portal provides access to state spending data, enabling citizens to track expenditures and hold government accountable.
- Citizens Against Government Waste: This organization advocates for responsible spending and provides insights into government waste and inefficiency.
